LEGO has announced an exciting new partnership with Nintendo to create a LEGO set inspired by the iconic Nintendo Game Boy. This collaboration expands LEGO’s growing lineup of gaming console replicas, following the recent news about a LEGO PlayStation 2 set reportedly entering production.
The LEGO Nintendo Game Boy set is designed to evoke nostalgia, modeled after the original version of the classic handheld gaming console. This new addition joins LEGO’s other video game system replicas, such as the ATARI and NES sets. Nintendo teased the upcoming set with a short video posted on X (formerly Twitter). The clip shows a handful of LEGO bricks, including familiar elements like the Game Boy’s iconic purple buttons and directional pad. Along with the teaser, Nintendo of America shared the message, “Build the classic Nintendo system in LEGO® form. Coming October 2025.”
This isn’t LEGO’s first collaboration with Nintendo. The two brands have previously teamed up for popular building sets based on Super Mario and Mario Kart, including intricate models like the LEGO Piranha Plant, the 16-bit Mario and Yoshi from Super Mario World, and a massive Bowser figure. LEGO also introduced the Nintendo Entertainment System set last year, which has been a hit among fans.
With the Game Boy now joining LEGO’s lineup, it’s clear the partnership between LEGO and Nintendo continues to grow. Fans of both brands can look forward to recreating the beloved gaming console in LEGO form, complete with its nostalgic details. The LEGO Nintendo Game Boy set is expected to launch in October 2025, offering gamers and LEGO enthusiasts alike another exciting project to enjoy.
