The 990 EVO Plus leverages decades of Samsung’s cutting-edge semiconductor technology, ensuring proven reliability. It boasts sequential read speeds of up to 7,250 megabytes per second (MB/s) and write speeds reaching 6,300 MB/s, marking a 50% improvement over the previous 990 EVO. This performance enhancement is driven by Samsung’s latest 8th generation V-NAND technology and a 5-nanometer (nm) controller. Additionally, an innovative nickel-coated heat shield reduces overheating, resulting in a 73% increase in power efficiency compared to its predecessor.
The 4TB model features an industry-leading random read speed of 1,050K IOPS and 1,400K IOPS for random writes. This exceptional performance nearly matches that of SSDs with DRAM, even without a DRAM cache, making it an ideal choice for gaming and AI applications that demand high performance.
Increased Storage Capacity
The rising demand for high-capacity storage is fueled by the need to manage large files, high-quality video editing, and next-generation gaming. To address these storage requirements, the 990 EVO Plus features a 4TB model, surpassing the capacity of the previous 990 EVO.
