Take-Two CEO says AI won’t make GTA 6 develop faster
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has addressed rumors about artificial intelligence (AI) expediting the development of GTA. In an interview with CNBC, Zelnick clarified that while AI tools can enhance efficiency in game creation, they are unlikely to significantly shorten the production timeline.
According to Zelnick, AI has long been a part of the interactive entertainment industry, primarily aiding developers in streamlining repetitive tasks. “Our tools make us more efficient and allow creative teams to focus on innovation rather than mundane work,” he said. However, he emphasized that creating blockbuster games like GTA 6 remains a complex and time-intensive process that AI cannot drastically accelerate.
