New Contracts for Hydrogen and Electric Buses Propel IVECO BUS to Success in France
Turin, Italy, 30th September 2024 – IVECO BUS, the bus brand of Iveco Group, has secured three new contracts in France for electric mobility, further strengthening its role in promoting cleaner public transport. Since early September, the company has received orders for 31 hydrogen fuel cell buses and 20 battery electric buses.
Cannes Lérins Urban Community has placed an order for twelve GX 337 H2 LINIUM hydrogen fuel cell buses, which will be delivered in the second half of 2025. These will add to the existing fleet of thirty-five IVECO BUS battery electric buses.
Lorient Agglomération has also opted for IVECO BUS’s hydrogen buses, ordering nineteen GX 337 H2 LINIUM vehicles, with five set to enter service in late 2025.
Grand Reims Mobilités has signed a contract for twenty GX 437 ELEC LINIUM battery electric buses, with the option to purchase nine more. These will be on the streets of Reims by autumn 2025.
The hydrogen buses for Cannes and Lorient are a result of Iveco Group’s partnership with Hyundai Motor Company, which started in 2022. The buses feature Hyundai’s advanced fuel cell system and batteries from FPT Industrial, Iveco Group’s powertrain brand. The battery electric buses for Reims are part of a successful lineup with over 3,000 units already ordered by more than 100 customers across Europe.
Domenico Nucera, President of Iveco Group’s Bus Business Unit, expressed pride in the trust shown by these cities and highlighted IVECO BUS’s expertise in sustainable transportation. He emphasized their commitment to providing high-performance, eco-friendly mobility solutions in France and beyond
